PLTW Launch Login Updates

Earlier this year Project Lead the Way changed the way that students and teachers log into their classroom resources.  With that change, we can now use ClassLink to log in.

Open the ClassLink iPad app.

Tap on  the myPLTW (Student)  icon
This step only needs to be done once..

Enter your username and password.

For PLTW Launch (K-4) students, I can create shared login credentials so the everyone in the class can use the same username/password.

See me for details.
(This is new for fall, 2020)

The username IS case-sensitive.  If your iPad capitalizes the first letter, be sure to delete it before proceeding.
Tap on the Courses icon in the upper left corner
Students may navigate here to any of their unit materials.

Our District uses PLTW's innovative and engaging classroom resources with all students in grades K-4, and also at the middle school in a computer science course.  This is an exciting year, too,  since the long-awaited new modules have been added to complete the alignment of all Next Generation Science Standards for grades K-4.  The coursework also meets the State of Iowa recommendations for Computer Science for elementary students and aligns with many math and language arts standards.

In the past, having students type in usernames/passwords was a barrier to using the digital resources.  PLTW offers print resources for class situations where there is limited technology available.   With this arrangement now, once a student is logged in for the first time through ClassLink, their credentials will be 'remembered'.  This may help in creating an engaging classroom environment, while limiting contact with students.

On that note, click here to review the PLTW recommendations for remote learning and face-to-face learning.  This has been sent out by PLTW in recent weeks to all classroom trained teachers.

Teachers:  Please let me know if you would like accounts created for your class.
Students can now log in with a  'Shared' username and password.  This means that we don't have  to  create and individual account for every student anymore.   The entire class can use the same username/password combination.
